Biography
Rafael advises high-net-worth individuals and families on cross-border tax planning, corporate governance, and succession matters. His over 11 years of experience in corporate, tax, and family law give him a broad perspective and the ability to develop practical, efficient solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
His work focuses on structuring cross-border estate and succession plans, including the creation and restructuring of offshore vehicles, coordination of multi-jurisdictional probate proceedings, and advising families with members and assets located in different jurisdictions. Rafael regularly works with local counsel and service providers in the relevant countries to ensure each matter is handled with the highest quality from a multi-jurisdictional legal standpoint.
Before joining Katsky Korins, Rafael was a senior associate in the Private Client practice at Mattos Filho in São Paulo, Brazil. There, he played a key role in designing corporate governance frameworks for some of Brazil’s most prominent family-controlled companies, working closely with clients to guide them toward sound and sustainable decisions. In 2025, he was recognized by Análise Advocacia Regional as one of the most admired lawyers in Greater São Paulo – a distinction based on spontaneous nominations from senior legal and financial executives at Brazil’s largest companies.
